Description
The Azul Valverde has a blueish grey coloured background, with small dispersed clear spots, fine grain and uniform background. It is a limestone with medium to high hardness. This limestone is explored around the area of Valverde - Alcanede, which is located in the Serra D´Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park, region of Santarém - Portugal.
Variations
Azul Peniche - Light
Limestone with medium grain and light background, with different tonalities. It is an indirect variation of the Azul Valverde.
Azul Peniche - Dark
Limestone with fine grain, homogeneous and dark background. It is an indirect variation of the Azul Valverde.
Amarelo Valverde
Limestone with yellow / golden colour, with fine grain and homogeneous background. It a direct variation of the Azul Valverde.
Azul Valverde – Layer 2
Limestone with a very similar appearance to the original Azul Valverde. It is extracted in the same area but on a different extraction layer.
