Description
The Moleanos has a light beige coloured background and a slight greyish tonality, showing disperse brownish fine spots - known as Moleanos Classic. It is a limestone with medium to high hardness. It is explored around the area of Moleanos - Aljubarrora, which is located on the border of Serra D´Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park. This area is located in the centre of Portugal, about 100 kilometres north of Lisbon.
Variations
Moleanos Blue
Limestone with a blue coloured background and medium grain. It is a direct variation of the Moleanos, with difference in colour.
Moleanos Mixed
Limestone with a beige and blue mixed coloured background and medium grain. It is a direct variation of the Moleanos.
Moleanos - Thin
Moleanos with thin grain, beige and brownish background with ocasional dark spots. It is a thin variation of the Moleanos.
Moleanos Vidraco
Moleanos with medium grain, beige background and ocasional large and dark spots. It is a hard type of limestone.
Finishings
Polished
This type of finighing enhances the beautiful beige colour of the Moleanos limestone. The surface is smooth and plain.
Honed
This type of finishing is plain and does not show any shine as is the case with the polished one, revealing a light colour.
Bush-Hammered
It has a corrugated appearance, turning the beige colour into white. Its surface is characterized by its salience and roughness.
Brushed
It has a corrugated appearance, but maintaining the original beige colour. Its surface is characterized by its salience and smoothness.
